The Schlossweg connects the hunting lodge in Schloß Holte with Verl. The Waldteufelweg cross-connection turns the original 12.8 km long trail into a circular trail of just 4.4 km.

This hiking trail leads mostly through the Holter forest. From the hunting lodge in Schloß Holte, follow the forest path for approx. 2 km following the signs for the Schlossweg until you turn left onto the Waldteufelweg (white devil's face on a red background). After just 600 meters, you will reach the Schlossweg again (with its orange markings with the three towers), which you continue along in the direction of Schloß Holte. The path now leads you another 2 km along the banks of the natural Ölbach stream through varied forests and meadows back to Holte hunting lodge, where the Holter Schlosskrug invites you to stop for a bite to eat.

Directions

The main path is marked in both directions with the castle path sign (three castle towers on an orange background), the connecting path is marked with the forest devil, a white face on a red background.

Equipent

Sturdy shoes are recommended.

The Holter Schlosskrug not only has a very idyllic beer garden, but also a beautiful dining room and modern hotel rooms!

Getting There

A33, exit 22-Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock, direction Schloß Holte. Cross the traffic circle (second exit straight ahead). After approx. 800 m turn right into the forest.
