The signposted tour with only slight changes in altitude is ideally suited for young and old. It begins in the centre of Nümbrecht, past the Kurpark (spa park) and children’s playground, mini-golf course, duck pond and viewing tower. The route goes through small villages to the picturesque timber-framed village of Bruch, where the protected buildings dating from the 17th century are still inhabited. Then on through the districts of Hammermühl and Drinsahl to Wirtenbach, where there is a sporadically operational sawmill. From here, it’s not far to Nümbrecht. You quickly pass through the small hamlet of Ahlbusch with its seven inhabitants and then on to Ödinghausen. Nümbrecht is now in sight. Along the final two kilometres, you pass a sports facility and golf course until you arrive back in the town centre. You’re in the right place in Nümbrecht for some light refreshments and a big ice-cream.
