A short loop around the Höxter-Holzminden airfield and through the Räuschenberg nature reserve.

Hudding is the historical grazing of forest areas with livestock and is extremely rare today. Here in the Räuschenberg nature reserve, the rough grassland is grazed by goats. They eat the leaves and young shoots to keep bushes and shrubs small so that rare orchids and herbs can develop in the open spaces.

Along the way, there are always great views of Brenkhausen and the monastery complex there as well as the runway of the airfield.

From Höxter-Brenkhausen, follow the signs to the airfield on the Räuschenberg.

At the "Café am Räuschenberg" or at the hiking parking lot at the airfield.

Another parking option is available at the hiking parking lot at the start of the tour (below the airfield, from here a narrow path leads to the tour).
