The themed route "Active in the countryside from Neuss to Cologne" is an approximately 90 km long tour from Neuss via Dormagen to Cologne that shows you the diversity of the region's flora and fauna. Discover the Rhineland with all its facets: rural idyll and urban diversity.
You start at Neuss main station and head straight for the Neuss Alpine Park, where you can take a short break with a cool drink in the beer garden. After crossing Selikumer Park, which houses a tree museum, and the Erft, the Norfbach accompanies you for a little while. After a long stretch of bustling Neuss, the Zonser Grind, a nature reserve on a peninsula on the Rhine, and the Dormagen Tannenbusch will let you take a deep breath. From Knechtsteden Monastery, the route leads towards Cologne, and you get to know the cathedral city from its green side: Past the MediaPark, you cycle through the Outer and Inner Green Belt, to the Lindenthal canals, the Stadtgarten and the Decksteiner Weiher through the Rheinauhafen to Cologne Cathedral.
