Tour 1: Wupper route

TOUR #1 - CYCLING ON THE WUPPER ROUTE

Along the major artery, the river Wupper  

The tour leads from the Industrial Museum via various stops in the districts of Merscheid and Aufderhöhe to the scenic Wupper valley. Passing the sites of old water cottages, you ride through Unterburg and finally under the Müngsten Bridge.

The route follows a former tram line into the centre of Solingen before heading back to the museum via the Korkenziehertrasse and the Lochbach valley.

Cycle east or west of the Wupper: you decide!

The route shown here takes you to Müngsten on the east side of the Wupper. After passing under the bridge, you can cross the Wupper on the small transporter bridge. In Brückenpark Müngsten, past Haus Müngsten, head for the main road. If the transporter bridge is not in operation because of the weather, continue following the path on the east side of the Wupper until you reach the main road.
