Cycle tours through Espelkamp's beautiful countryside, mostly flat and well-maintained, low-traffic paths invite you to get active. Get on your bike and off you go.

Starting at Wilhelm-Kern-Platz in Espelkamp, the circuit first heads west through the city center, then through the southwestern outskirts of the city, past the new residential area "Zur Ratzenburg" and the new sports center of FC Preußen, Mittwald Park.

On the way to the Große Aue recreational area, you first cross a wooded area and then reach the Auesee lake. The route continues on quiet side paths through beautiful countryside, constantly changing past fields, meadows and wooded areas with individual farms and half-timbered houses.

The route continues via Vehlage and southern Destel to Levern. On the way, you can stop for a bite to eat at Gasthaus Rose. Shortly before Levern, it is worth visiting the mill and museum, where you can enjoy entertaining programs and, of course, freshly baked cakes on mill days.

In Levern, you can admire the collegiate church and many half-timbered houses. The route then continues with an excursion to Rila and then through the scenic lowlands of the Great Diek River towards the Mittelland Canal. Follow the canal to the Schloss Benkhausen exit, where you can visit the castle and park and take a short break at the Rentei or explore the newly developed circular hiking trail.

On the way back to the starting point, the route first takes you back along country lanes to the north of Gestringen and on to the city center past the new residential area "Ostlandpark" At the finish, there are plenty of places to eat and drink to round off the ride.
