Wanderparkplatz Ringwallstraße in Windeck-Stromberg. Alternativ: Wanderparkplatz Hüppelröttchen (Melchiorweg)
Directions
From the Stromberg car park, a wide forest path leads you slightly uphill, followed by a forest path through the open area of a former spruce stand up to the "Quaden". Here, a next generation of forest is gradually being created. Right next door is the "Mönchskopf", which the tour also passes. The route runs over the ridge of the Leuscheid through the forest. Again and again, open areas provide surprising perspectives: Here, too, "more climate-resistant" tree species such as pedunculate oaks, silver firs, sweet chestnuts and wild cherries are gradually replacing the former spruce stands. Soon after, a section at the edge of the forest provides a more pleasant picture: before you reach the former Hüppelröttchen forester's house, your gaze wanders over meadows, ponds and fruit trees. It is worth taking a longer break here; next to a herb garden, a viewing lounger and an attractive forest and bee educational trail await you. Afterwards, it goes downhill to the Melchiorweg car park, the alternative entry point to the route. There you follow the forest path that leads you into a mixed forest along the mountain slope of the "Schaden". At the side of the path, the "Friedrichsquellen" provide you with refreshing drinking water - directly from nature! The route now winds its way along a wide forest path around numerous V-shaped valleys on the slope. Again and again, the light zones of succession areas provide distant views over wooded heights. You have already reached the Mühlenbach, which you follow to its mouth in the Sieg. An asphalt path leads you along the steep bank back to the starting point
