The moderate tour starts in the middle of Hennef: After a short passage through the tranquil small town center, you reach the long arch of the Siegdamm, which leads along old linden trees through a peaceful floodplain landscape. Between Weingartsgasse and Seligenthal, the relics of the "Grube Ziethen" can be seen on the Sieg, where lead ore was once mined. A field path with a panoramic landscape leads you uphill above the overgrown former vineyard terraces to a higher rest area. There you can enjoy a fantastic view and receive interesting information about the history of settlement between the Rhine and Sieg. A serpentine path then leads steeply downhill into a small wooded stream valley. The path continues uphill, initially steeply, then more moderately on the other side of the valley, where the church tower of the pretty village of Happerschoß soon comes into view. A field path leads through fields and meadows on the Mühlenberg, and on the lonely heights you get surprising insights into the historical cultural landscape. The route then takes you down into a V-shaped valley. On partly steep paths, you go along the edge of the village of Allner, past the mighty walls of a former moated castle and the remains of a grain and oil mill on the banks of the Sieg. Along the Sieg and through the meadows, you return to Hennef train station.
