For young explorers! Hello, I'm “Melli von Hüppelrott”, the queen honeybee, and I love to solve mysteries. Would you like to uncover my secret? Until recently I lived in the forest, but then I disappeared. What happened to me? You'll find out! You'll find clues at the information stations ...

Great excitement in the bee colony: “Melli von Hüppelrott” has disappeared. What has happened? If you want to learn more about the life of the honey bee and understand how it lives in the forest and with its other inhabitants; if you want to know why honey bees are in danger and what we can all do about it, then you've come to the right place: Did you know that up to 60,000 bees live and work in a bee colony? That a single drop of honey is the life's work of a worker bee? Or that a bee colony flies around the world three times for 500 g of honey? You can find out all this and much more on Melli's educational bee trail. It also gives you the opportunity to experience Melli von Hüppelrott and her fellow bees with all your senses: For example, learn bee language by touch, look at a flower meadow with bee eyes or take on the job of a tank keeper or guard bee in the “honeycomb game”.

The forest and bee nature trails partly run parallel to the “Forester's Trail”. The forest nature trail starts at the first station of the bee nature trail and can be walked in any direction.

Please treat the signs, games and other objects with care and do not leave any garbage lying around. Please show consideration for animals and plants.

The trail is suitable for baby carriages. You will need sturdy shoes on the educational bee trail. It is an advantage to have food in your rucksack as there are no refreshment stops.
