Cycle tour to the sewage fields

Vom Bahnhof führt die Radtour zur Promenade von Münster. Kurze Zeit später ist der  Wienburgpark erreicht. Die grüne "Oase" leitet über in den ländlich geprägten Teil von Münster.  Von hier aus sind es nur noch wenige Kilometer zum Naturschutzgebiet der Rieselfelder.  Es lohnt sich immer wieder anzuhalten und an den Aussichtspunkten einen Blick auf die zahlreichen Wasserflächen zu werfen. Aus den Beobachtunghütten lassen sich zahllose Vogelarten beobachten. Nicht umsonst werden die Rieselfelder als "Europareservat" gekennzeichnet. Dazu faszinieren zahllose weitere Tiere und eine abwechslungsreiche Fauna. 

Mehr Informationen gibt es an der Biologischen Station an der Radroute. Deutlich waldreicher präsentiert sich im Anschluss das Landschaftsschutzgebiet der Bockholter Berge. Höhenmeter während der Radtour sind allerdings auch hier nicht zu erwarten. Zwischen den beiden Naturräumen lockt der schöne Ortsteil Greven-Gimbte. Ein herrlicher Platz für eine Rast in idyllischer Umgebung.

Der Dortmund-Ems-Kanal ist der ständige Begleiter auf dem Rückweg nach Münster. Immer wieder lassen sich die Frachtschiffe auf dem Kanal beobachten. Ein Bild, dass für "Entschleunigung" sorgt.

The cycle tour is perfect for arriving by train. The route starts at Münster's main station with its countless train connections. The Münster bus station is also in the immediate vicinity with many connections within the city and to the surrounding region.

By car, travel via the motorway junction Münster-Süd (A 43 / A1) or the motorway junction Münster-Nord (A1 / B54). From there, follow the signs in the direction of Zentrum / Hauptbahnhof.

There are numerous paid parking spaces and multi-storey car parks around the main station.

The cycle tour is not signposted, but for the most part it follows the red and white marked Münsterland cycle path network or local cycle paths. The easiest way to navigate is by GPS track.

The large bicycle station is located directly at Münster's main railway station. Visitors can park their bikes here and then explore the city on foot. The bike station also has a workshop service and a large bike rental. The bike rental service also offers e-bikes, children's bikes and tandems, among other things.
