For young explorers! Count Henry and the stolen treasure.

Solve the robber baron riddle and learn what little knights need to be able to do. A sporty and exciting experience for active children.

The year is 1230. Count Heinrich lives in Windeck Castle with his family, his knights and squires, maids and craftsmen. There are always raids and fights. A horde of robber barons travels through the country and does not stop at Windeck Castle. Poor Count Heinrich is robbed and his beautiful castle is badly damaged in the raid. The robbers get away. On the way to the castle, the leader of the robber barons found out about Count Heinrich's life and left some traces behind. On your journey of discovery, you will learn a lot about Count Heinrich's life and what life was like in a castle back then. You will learn what little knights need to be able to do: riding, climbing, hunting, tracking... and at the end, you will solve the riddle of the stolen treasure.

The 1.5-kilometer-long path, suitable for strollers, starts behind the forest cemetery in Schladern and leads through old trees and along meadows to the castle ruins.

Especially in adverse weather conditions, natural paths can become muddy and slippery. In autumn in particular, it is important to be aware that leaves lying on the ground can cover bumps, roots, stones or holes in the path.

Suitable for strollers.

On the children's adventure trail you need sturdy shoes, fun being a knight and curiosity to explore!

At the end of the tour, visit Windeck Castle. There you can discover the Windeck Castle ruins on an exciting audio tour. Afterwards you can enjoy a delicious picnic at the picnic station at Windeck Castle.
