Directions
The "Lüdinghaus", the tourist information office in Lüdinghausen, is the starting point of this charming cycle tour. In the immediate vicinity is the beautiful Lüdinghausen Castle with its fortified walls. A short tour around the historic building is definitely worthwhile. Only a few pedal turns away is the picturesque Vischering Castle. You should plan some time for a tour of the medieval castle. A guided tour of the museum is not to be missed.
Accompanied by fields and avenues, the cycle path leads through gentle landscapes in the direction of Ascheberg. The small town is ideal for a first refreshment on the tour. The cycle path now turns south and leads into the forests around Nordkirchen. Oaks and hornbeams characterise the shady forests and provide a habitat for many animal species. A special feature are the numerous wilderness forests where nature can develop uninfluenced. The primeval forests of tomorrow are developing here.
In stark contrast to this is the strict symmetry of Nordkirchen Castle and its park. The imposing moated castle is the most famous castle in the region and its size exceeds most expectations. A walk across the idyllic Venus Island is particularly beautiful. The restaurants and cafés in the nearby town centre invite you to take a break before the last stage.
Once again, the Münsterland shows its rural side before reaching the centre of Lüdinghausen again.
