Experience points along the lively Altenau
Family time together in nature - a great experience! The Teutoburg Forest/Eggegebirge Nature Park has therefore developed this 18 km long cycle route especially for families. It mostly runs away from busy traffic routes, with only three places where you have to cross roads. After Husen, there is a slight uphill section, but overall the cycle route is easily manageable for children of primary school age and above. There is plenty to discover on the way through fields, woods and meadows. Especially when one of the eight larger-than-life, lifelike animal sculptures appears, there is something special to see or experience.
The animals are right next to the cycle path and always match the habitat that surrounds them. It's worth stopping there and taking a close look at the animal in question. How many scales does the brown trout have? Where are the frog's webbed feet and who "flies" best on the dragonfly? But it's not just the animals that will amaze you. At the orchard between Husen and Dalheim, a discovery box awaits with a sporty surprise for the whole family.
