Directions

It starts at the “Bullerbü” playground right next to Wissem Castle. A wooden bridge takes you over the moat and after just a few meters you come across a giant shoe. It is part of the sensory experience field initiated by artists from the Troisdorf creative workshop. Pay close attention, there are more works of art and sensory stations to come! A few steps further, the forest opens up, and from a high stand you can watch red deer and some sika deer grazing. A narrow nature path then leads through a beautiful mixed forest towards Heerstrasse. Before you reach the junction you will have passed three more sensory stations. At the next two crossroads you turn left and reach a place to stop for a break on Altenrather Strasse. After crossing the road you will come across an educational beekeeping station in the middle of the forest. It is part of the Troisdorf forest and bird park. A great path leads you through the park to an idyllic pond landscape with ducks and water turtles. The neighboring aviaries house pheasants, colorful parakeets and endangered breeds of chicken. The small streets of a residential area lead you back to the castle. In the park surrounding the castle you will find a large stone labyrinth and other exciting sensory and art stations.

Please do not climb on the sculptures.

The path is suitable for baby carriages.

Normal everyday footwear is sufficient, no hiking boots necessary

Tip

Don't miss Burg Wissem with the Bilderbuchmuseum, the forest and bird park, the game reserve with observation stand and the educational apiary (oben every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month from 10 a.m to 1 p.m, Mai to September). The playground is equipped with great water play equipment.
