Before the cycle tour begins, it is worth visiting the Falkenhof Museum in Rheine. The museum surprises with its furnishings and interesting exhibits.

The cycle route first leads northwards to the district of Bentlage. The "Bentlage triad" of Salinenpark, Bentlage Monastery and the nature zoo is a popular excursion destination. The Salienenpark offers wonderful views over well-tended flowerbeds and wide meadows to the graduation tower. From spring to autumn, the park is always ablaze with new colours.

The Salinenpark offers marvellous views over manicured flowerbeds and wide meadows to the graduation house. From spring to autumn, the park is always ablaze with new colours. The paths lead through sparse forests to Bentlage Abbey. You should definitely plan enough time for a visit. Not only is the museum worth a visit, the café also offers an enchanting ambience.

The path loops back a short distance before crossing the River Ems and then the Dortmund-Ems Canal. Surrounded by fields and meadows, after the district of Dreierwalde you reach the pleasant town of Hörstel with the DA, Kunsthaus Kloster Gravenhorst. There are numerous works of art to discover in the park. Many interesting exhibitions and events make the monastery a magnet for visitors. If you fancy a bite to eat, you can fill your picnic basket in the café.

The "wet triangle" just a few kilometres away offers a wonderful view of the Mittelland Canal and the Dortmund-Ems Canal. It's fun to take a little time and watch the hustle and bustle on the canals. Shortly after Hörstel-Bevergern, you reach Surenburg Castle. The surrounding forests offer a marvellous landscape, which soon opens up again. On the way to Rheine, the parkland once again shows its most beautiful side.

For the last few metres, the cycle tour leads along the Ems back to the centre of Rheine. The terraces along the Ems invite you to finish with a drink and a view.

Rheine is very easy to reach by train. The station is located on the edge of the city centre, just a few pedal strokes from the start of the cycle tour, and is regularly served by regional and long-distance trains from Amsterdam, Berlin, Hanover, Cologne, Wuppertal, Osnabrück and Münster, among others.

By car, take the A30 motorway (Osnabrück-Amsterdam) to the Rheine or Rheine-Nord exits. From there, follow the signs to Rheine.

From the south, either take the A1 (Cologne-Bremen) to the Münster-Nord motorway junction or the A31 (Oberhausen-Emden) to the Steinfurt exit. From there, take the B54 towards Rheine or Steinfurt as far as the junction with the B70. From there, follow the signs to Rheine.

In Rheine there are numerous signposted car parks in the city centre and around the railway station. The car park charges vary. However, the maximum daily rate is the same in almost all car parks.

Some multi-storey and underground car parks, e.g. at the Stadthalle, are open around the clock.

The cycle route is not signposted, but follows the junction system and the red and white signposting of the Münsterland cycle route network.

The use of a GPX track is recommended for easy orientation.
