The starting point of the SteverLandRoute is in Nottuln, a charming municipality with a picturesque old town centre. The Stever river rises in the Nottuln area and leads cyclists from the Baumberge mountains to where it flows into the River Lippe.

From Nottuln, the route continues along fields and through the Nottuln district of Appelhülsen. From here, the route leads directly along the River Stever to Senden.

The municipality of Senden is known for the "Venner Moor" nature reserve and the magnificent moated castle of Senden.

The route continues to Lüdinghausen. Cyclists can expect a slight incline along the way and are immediately rewarded with a view of the mighty Kakesbeck Castle, which is embedded in green parkland and located right next to the Stever.

Once in Lüdinghausen, cyclists come across one of the most beautiful photo motifs in the region: Vischering Castle. The moated castle is an ideal place to combine the cycle tour with a short walk around the castle.

From Lüdinghausen, the route continues along the River Stever, past picturesque mills and small bridges that connect the banks of the river. Here you can enjoy the unspoilt nature of the Münsterland to the full and take in the tranquillity of the surroundings.

The route continues through beautiful countryside to the Stever floodplains in Olfen. They are a special nature experience. Wild cattle, horses and donkeys populate the banks of the Stever here. If you wish, you can enjoy a cosy picnic here with a view of nature.

Finally, you reach the destination of the SteverLandRoute: the town of Haltern am See. Here you can relax after your cycle tour and enjoy the picturesque backdrop of the Haltern reservoir. The town itself invites you to linger with its cosy cafés and restaurants before it is time to make your way back or continue exploring other sights in the area.

The route can be travelled as a whole or in four stages.
