The cycle tour starts at the town hall square in Rhede and initially leads to the Bocholter Aa via junction 52. After a few kilometres, the cycle route turns south and leads through the typical cultural landscape of the Münsterland. The cycle tour leads through fields and meadows on quiet paths with only a few metres of elevation gain before turning east towards Raesfeld.

A few kilometres further on, the historic Raesfeld zoo frames the cycle tour. The landscape is surprisingly varied. Small lakes alternate with dense forests, heathland and open meadows.

The striking nature park centre in Raesfeld is a good starting point to find out more about the surrounding area. The romantic Raesfeld Castle is within sight. A tour around the castle always offers new perspectives of the historic walls and the highest castle tower in Westphalia. The restaurants and cafés in Schloss Freiheit are a wonderful place to take a break.

The cycle path now turns north towards Borken and meets the Bocholter Aa again at Pröbstingsee. The lake invites you to take another break. You can relax with a picnic, a pedalo ride or a drink in the beer garden.

At the end of the lake, the cycle route leads back to Rhede from the north, where the St. Gudula church in the town centre once again offers an impressive sight. The cycle tour ends back at the town hall square.

Just a few metres from the Pröbstingsee lake, at the fish ladder, there is a wonderful picnic area with table and benches and a view of the historic Pröbsting house.

Rhede can be reached by car via the main road B67 (Bocholt-Borken). From the Rhede exit, follow the signs in the direction of the town centre.

The nearest railway stations are in Borken and Bocholt. Bus route 51 runs regularly from both railway stations to Rhede. Trains from Düsseldorf, Oberhausen and Dinslaken stop in Bocholt, trains from Essen, Bottrop, Gladbeck and Dorsten stop in Borken.

Free parking is available at the Kettelerstraße car park (Kirmesplatz).

The route is not signposted separately, but runs from junction 52 on the signposted junction network.
