Points of interest
1. viewing platform Silence Garden
When you enter the Silence Garden, you are greeted by a picture of idyll and silence. In the small, sheltered area with a circular path, you can take a short break on benches. Almost centrally, on a small meadow under a tree, there is a memorial stone to Carl Piderit, a senior government councillor from Blomberg. There are also the gravestones of Baron Christian von Ulmenstein and his wife right next to the town wall. Von Ulmenstein once founded the Blomberg carnation farm. The remains of a former watchtower can also be seen relatively centrally, bearing witness to Blomberg's original defensive character. In the half-open tower, a spiral staircase now offers the opportunity for a short ascent.
Once at the top, you are rewarded with a wonderful view over the surrounding area of the carnation town.
2. Blomberg Town Hall
A highlight of Blomberg is located directly on the market square, the parlor of Blomberg: the town hall! It was built in 1587 and the three equally large half-timbered gables at the front of the town hall are particularly striking. To the left in front of the town hall is the "pillory" (16th century), where convicts were put on display in the Middle Ages.
3. View of the Blomberg basin
