There is a lot to discover on this tour: from the medieval flair of Hardtburg Castle, to the Roman lime distillery, to a rare variety of plants in the drained Steinbach dam in the nature reserve!
The cycle tour takes us through the varied landscape of the Eifel, peppered with a few sights. We pass fields and cross wooded areas that repeatedly offer spectacular views.
The first highlight along the way is Wachendorf Castle, surrounded by an avenue of trees. With a view of the castle, a bench invites you to linger, but there are many more treasures to discover. Shortly before Iversheim, there is a historic excavation site of a Roman lime kiln, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Lower Germanic Limes.
Another highlight is the Steinbach dam with various leisure activities. The crowning glory of the tour is the ruins of Hardtburg Castle, surrounded by dense woodland
