Easy circular hike around Mendig in the footsteps of the Romans and volcanism

On the Mendig Roman Empire Dream Trail around the village of Mendig, the Roman legionary Mandius takes hikers back to a time some 2000 years ago. At some of the stations, you can learn exciting stories from this impressive era. The short walking trail leads through enchanting forest and meadow landscapes, past the Moosdachhütte, through the romantic Segbachtal valley and up to a hilltop with a fantastic panoramic view.

The short hike can be wonderfully combined with a visit to the Lava Dome - German Volcano Museum in Mendig and the lava cellar. The brewery of the Vulkan brewery is a great place to stop for refreshments and the Hotel Haus Hansa, as a quality host of Wanderbares Deutschland, is ideally suited to the needs of hikers.
