The city tour begins at the imposing Vischering Castle. From the castle courtyard, the path leads through the extensive green areas of the moated castle world. Several installations on historical themes invite you to linger and discover. The tour circles Lüdinghausen Castle, which is well worth seeing and is one of the town's cultural centres.
The historic Borgmühle provides the link to the old town centre. The path first turns southwards and reaches the Hakehaus, one of the oldest buildings in the old town. Passing the Felizitas Church, the city tour reaches the market square.
The path turns northwards via Hermannstraße. On picturesque paths, surrounded by the moats of Vischering Castle, the city tour reaches its starting point.
Getting There
Access by car is via the B 58 (Haltern am See - Ascheberg) with connection to the A 1 (Cologne-Bremen) and A 43 (Wuppertal-Münster) motorways or via the B 235 (Datteln-Senden) with connection to the A 2 (Oberhausen-Hanover). In the Lüdinghausen urban area, follow the signs to Vischering Castle.
Travelling by train via Lüdinghausen station with connections from Dortmund, Gronau and Enschede or by bus to Lüdinghausen bus station with the express bus line X90 from Münster.
Parking
Free parking is available at Vischering Castle. The entrance to the city tour is located directly at the castle.
