The large Legden circular hiking trail is 13.6 kilometres long and combines the idyllic Münsterland park landscape with cultural highlights. The paths lead through varied nature and past historical sights that characterise Legden and Asbeck. The route offers both nature lovers and those interested in culture a varied experience.

Start: Dahlia garden Legden

  • The trail begins in the colourful dahlia garden, which impresses with a variety of dahlia species.

Catholic parish church of St Brigida:

  • After a few metres you reach the imposing parish church of St. Brigida, a central landmark of Legden.

Village fountain:

  • The path continues to the village fountain, a popular meeting point in the village centre.

Touristik Legden & Asbeck:

  • Here you have the opportunity to find out about other tourist offers and events.

Haus Egelborg:

  • The route leads to the moated castle Haus Egelborg, a listed property dating back to the 14th century. The castle is privately owned but can be visited from the outside.

Neue Mühle barbecue area:

  • An ideal place for a rest is the Neue Mühle barbecue area, which invites you to relax in the midst of nature.

Educational tree trail:

  • Along the path, an educational tree trail provides information about the local flora and offers interesting facts about various tree species.

"Wegter Kreuz" wayside shrine:

  • The historic "Wegter Kreuz" wayside shrine is another cultural highlight along the route.

Haus von Hülst:

  • Back in the village centre, the listed Haus von Hülst impresses with its baroque architecture.

Haus Weßling:

  • Another historic building is Haus Weßling, which reflects Legden's architectural diversity.

Destination: Dahlia garden Legden

In Asbeck and Legden there are sufficient public car parks available for visitors. There are designated car parks. The following car parks are best suited for a visit to the Dahlia Garden and the village centre of Legden:

  • "Dorfplatz" car park, street: Stiege
  • "Ludwigsplatz" car park, street: Amtshausstraße
  • "Kirchstraße" car park, near the St. Brigida church

Some of the car parks can only be used for a limited time.
