Dorfbrunnen Asbeck
Dorfbrunnen Asbeck
The circular route through Asbeck begins at the picturesque village pond, an idyllic place with seating that combines tranquillity and nature. From here, the path leads to the imposing Hunnenporte gatehouse, the entrance to the former monastery complex. Just behind it is the Abbey House, a witness to the monastery's past.
The route continues to the historic bakery, which impresses with its traditional architecture and insights into old craft techniques. A few steps further on is the imposing Haus van Wüllen, a prestigious building from the abbey era.
You can sense the charm of days gone by at the nostalgic petrol pump. From here you can reach the centrepiece of the village, Asbeck Abbey with its dormitory, which provides an insight into monastic life. Not far away is the Catholic parish church of St Margareta, whose architecture reflects the village's long history.
The tour ends at the Stiftsmühle, another highlight with historical flair, before the path leads back to the starting point, the village pond. The route is just under two kilometres long and invites you to experience Asbeck in all its diversity in a relaxed manner.
The tour through Asbeck is enriched by two special catering offers.
The Greek restaurant under the lime trees invites you to linger with Mediterranean specialities and a family atmosphere. The inviting terrace under the shady lime trees provides the perfect setting for an enjoyable break. Traditional Greek dishes are freshly prepared here and bring the flavour of the Mediterranean region to your plate.
Restaurant Reers impresses with its regional cuisine and cosy atmosphere. Seasonal dishes and a lovingly designed beer garden make it a popular meeting place. Whether it's a hearty classic or a freshly tapped beer - you can experience Münsterland hospitality here.
Both pubs are just a few steps away from the route and are ideal places for an enjoyable break.
