Directions
The circular tour starts in the centre of Coesfeld, near the castle park and the market square. The route initially leads north-eastwards, past the town park and the Fürstenwiese meadow. It continues towards Billerbeck, along the Berkel river through the Berkelaue nature reserve. On this section, you can enjoy nature as you cycle upstream. The Kolvenburg, a manor house from the 15th century, is located directly on the Berkel in Billerbeck.
After leaving Billerbeck, the tour continues towards the Baumberge, where the first elevations of the landscape become visible. The Berkel spring is located here, an idyllic place to take a break and enjoy the surroundings. The landscape along the rest of the route offers the unmistakable beauty that characterises the Münsterland region. The Longinus Tower on the Westerberg, the highest point in the Baumberge, can already be seen in the distance. The tower offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire surrounding area.
The last section of the circular tour leads through a picturesque, unspoilt landscape. The Stever Valley, with its mills, granaries and the Stever spring, is a real insider tip in the Münsterland region. The Nottulner Berg nature reserve and the Hanloer Mark are further sights along the route. These scenic highlights make the tour an unforgettable experience.
The Gerleve Monastery is a particularly beautiful resting place, from whose picnic meadow you can enjoy a wonderful view over the green surroundings. Here, the monastery café offers small delicacies that make a break particularly pleasant.
Due to the hilly landscape and the length of the route, this tour is particularly suitable for e-bike fans. There are also several e-bike charging stations along the route, making the tour convenient for e-bike users.
