Directions
The cycle tour leaves Raesfeld in a northerly direction and soon passes the Issel spring. The young stream is quite typical of the western Münsterland with its wide fields and meadows. As the Issel begins its journey to the Netherlands, the cycle path continues towards Borken. Just before you reach the town, you can admire the historic Döring manor house.
The numerous cafés and restaurants in the district town of Borken are then the ideal place for an extended rest. Culture lovers are drawn to the FARB in the old town hall. In any case, it is worth taking a short detour to the Jugendburg Gemen. One of the most striking castles in the region.
On the way back to Raesfeld, another unknown treasure in Münsterland awaits cyclists in the form of Haus Engelrading. The rather plain building should not hide the eventful history. On the last kilometres back to Raesfeld, the Münsterland once again shows its gentle, rural side.
Getting There
Raesfeld is easily accessible by car via the A 31 motorway. From the Schermbeck exit, briefly follow the B 58 in the direction of Haltern am See. At the first traffic light, turn left onto the B 224 in the direction of Raesfeld. At the entrance to the town, follow the signs to "Schloss".
Parking
Free and shaded parking is available at the nature park house near Raesfeld Castle. The starting point at the town hall is only a few pedal turns away.
Track Signage
The cycle tour is not separately signposted, but follows the red and white signposted Münsterland cycle path system in large parts.
The use of a GPS track is recommended for navigation.
