The "Ibbenbüren Total" circular tour starts at Sportzentrum Ost in Ledder Straße, an easily accessible starting point with ample parking facilities. From here, the approximately 67-kilometre route leads through the diverse landscape around Ibbenbüren and impressively combines nature, culture and industrial history.

Right at the start, the route runs along the Aasee lake - a popular local recreation area with a lake stage, boat hire and views of the wooded heights of the Teutoburg Forest. The route continues past the NaturaGart Park, whose exotic water landscapes and diving park are an extraordinary sight.

The route then winds its way southwards through the Laggenbeck district with its village-like character. Behind the town centre, the typical Münsterland park landscape opens up with wide fields, interspersed with hedges, small woods and idyllic farms. The route touches several striking vantage points, including the Kleeberg with its far-reaching views over the western Münsterland.

A particular highlight of the tour is the Schafberg, a former coal mining area. The route runs alongside historic industrial sites and through recultivated slag heaps. Information boards provide an insight into the mining history of the region.

In Uffeln, the tour passes the Uffelner Heide nature reserve before heading north towards Dörenthe. There, it is worth making a detour to the imposing Dörenthe Cliffs - a sandstone formation with the legendary "Squatting Woman". The landscape here is characterised by hilly sections of forest and striking rock formations.

The way back runs along the Dortmund-Ems Canal and offers quiet passages on well-developed riverside paths. After a final section through the urban area of Ibbenbüren, the tour returns to the starting point on Ledder Straße.

The "Ibbenbüren Total" cycle tour impressively combines nature experiences with industrial culture and offers a variety of impressions on a well-signposted route - ideal for an all-day discovery tour in Tecklenburger Land.
