The cycle tour starts at the historic market square in Bocholt and leads along the Bocholter Aa towards Isselburg. After a break by the Issel, the route heads out of town to the Anholter Schweiz biotope, a miniature copy of Lake Lucerne, ideal for families.
From there, it's not far to Anholt moated castle, which lies in the middle of an extensive park. Visits to the outside and a tour of the park are possible at any time, while tours of the inside are only available as part of a guided tour.
The route continues along the Dutch border back to Bocholt. Before reaching the city centre, the route passes through the city forest, which provides variety with its numerous animal enclosures. Once you reach the market square in Bocholt, there are plenty of places to stop for a bite to eat.
Travelling by train via Bocholt station. The station is served by trains from Dinslaken, Düsseldorf, Duisburg, Oberhausen and Wesel.
Arrival by car via the A3 motorway (Oberhausen-Arnheim) to the Bocholt exit. Change to the B67 federal road in the direction of Bocholt and follow the signs.
Bocholt offers numerous car parks, which are signposted via a parking guidance system.
The cycle route is not signposted separately. However, it follows the Münsterland junction network in its entirety.
