The "Fair Labour Route" in Münsterland combines scenic beauty with insights into sustainable economic practices. The 35-kilometre circular tour leads through the region between Havixbeck and Billerbeck, past meadows, fields and historical sites.

The starting point is Havixbeck railway station. Alternatively, the route can also be started at the car park on Altenberger Straße in Havixbeck.

From there, the route first heads to the LadenLokal Havixbeck , an inclusive meeting point at Tilbeck Abbey that offers space for socialising and community activities. The route then continues to the Baumberg Sandstone Museum, which sheds light on the thousand-year history of local sandstone quarrying and its significance for the region.

The route continues to the Fark stonemason's workshop, where Baumberg sandstone has been quarried and processed since the 18th century. Here you can experience traditional craftsmanship and the sustainable use of materials at first hand. The next stop is the hands-on station "Mach dich auf die Socken", which looks at the global textile industry and encourages visitors to think about local and global production conditions.

In Billerbeck, you can visit the world shop, which sells fair trade products from all over the world. The Biller bakery focuses on sustainable production and regional ingredients, while short opening hours guarantee freshness and allow employees to work family-friendly hours. The Billerbeck Sustainability Centre provides information on climate protection and sustainable lifestyles and offers a wide range of workshops and lectures.

The einLaden shop in Billerbeck is run by volunteers and offers second-hand goods as well as a community meeting point. After a break on one of the benches placed along the route, with a view of the Berkel spring area, the route leads to the Longinus Tower on the Westerberg. From there, there is an impressive view over the region.

The water treading basin at the Schulze Westerath watermill invites you to take a refreshing break. Homemade jams, honey and more can be purchased at the watermill's sales stand, while the "Flowers and Labour" hands-on station focuses on the origin of cut flowers and sheds light on working conditions in global flower production.

The Bioland Sandsteinhof Kückmann combines organic farming with transparency and offers holiday guests insights into everyday life on the farm. The Arning farm focusses on regional marketing and offers fresh vegetables, potatoes and free-range eggs. The tour ends back at Havixbeck railway station, having offered a variety of insights into sustainable and fair working methods in the region.

You can park your car at Altenberger Straße 26 in Havixbeck. It is also possible to start the route from here.
