Directions
The EnergyExperienceRoute in Münsterland is a 44.5-kilometre circular tour that combines enjoyment of nature, regional value creation and vivid insights into the energy transition. The starting point is Coesfeld railway station - easily accessible and ideal for an environmentally friendly journey. The route leads through the Münsterland parkland, is mostly flat and is ideal for touring bikes and e-bikes.
Right at the start, the interactive hands-on station at Pictorius Berufskolleg offers exciting ideas: How can the energy transition succeed locally and globally? Projects from Münsterland, Bangladesh and Colombia show solutions - from solar technology to biogas. The tour continues past the Flamschen community wind farm and solar park, where the use of renewable energies becomes tangible on site.
The historic Letter Mill provides a cultural highlight, offering insights into traditional technology. Nearby, companies such as Resorti and the Weiling organic food shop show how sustainable behaviour can be implemented in everyday life - with products that combine regionality and environmental awareness.
Another highlight is the Fietzengarten: a green oasis with an educational approach that brings urban ecology to life. Finally, the route leads to the Coesfeld composting plant. Here you can see how new resources are created from organic waste - an impressive example of a functioning circular economy.
The route is easy to follow thanks to the Münsterland junction system. With numerous adventure stations and natural rest areas, it offers an ideal combination of relaxed exercise, knowledge transfer and regional discovery.
