Directions
The cycle tour starts at Gronau railway station. A visit to the unique rock'n'pop museum is definitely recommended. The cycle path leaves the town and cyclists are surrounded by the rural side of Münsterland by the time they reach the Dutch border.
The tour now turns southwards and reaches the district of Gronau-Epe in a small arc. Here, the Eper Park invites you to take your first break. In summer, the outdoor swimming pool on the edge of the "Eper Bülten" woodland area is a great attraction. The typical park landscape of the region accompanies cyclists as far as the Ammerter Venn. The wet meadows of the small nature reserve are a valuable refuge for migratory birds.
The cycle path now turns northwards and leads to the border with Lower Saxony, where the next opportunity to take a dip is the blue waters of the Drilandsee lake. Even if the water is not warm enough, the lake invites you to take a long break. The last few kilometres lead along the Dutch border back to Gronau.
