Stadtkyll Wanderweg SY 3

From the start at the hiking board on the church square, we walk southwards along the main road to Schwammertstraße. Here we turn right uphill into Schüllerweg. We follow the Schüllerweg uphill to the edge of the village and then turn right onto the Panoramaweg. We follow the Panoramaweg along the edge of the slope to the reservoir in Wirfttal. We walk uphill along the eastern shore of the lake to the fork in the path at the old swimming pool site. Here we turn left uphill (steep ascent!).  At the top, turn sharp left again along the upper edge of the slope until you reach the viewpoint with seating on the Stadtkyll air kurt resort. From here, the route continues for a short distance to the bitumen-lined field road, which we then follow downhill to the left into the village.

With the right preparation, hiking in the Eifel is fun!
Take drinks, provisions and your mobile phone with you.
Approx. 25 % of the route is on bituminised ground.

Sturdy shoes and appropriate clothing recommended.

Rest stop at the Wirft reservoir!

Visit to the Roman Catholic parish church of St Joseph with its high altar from the 2nd half of the 18th century.
