Wasserpfad im Wirfttal Stadtkyll

The path is well signposted in both directions. We start at the reception of the Landal holiday park, walk past the campsite (forest side) to the Ladbach valley. There is a natural water treading pool here. We then follow the Ladbach uphill and after approx. 500 metres turn left into a hollow path. We follow this further uphill until we reach a forest path running across it. We cross this straight ahead and then follow the hiking trail, which has now become a path, through a birch quarry forest to the hiking trail that crosses it. We follow this initially straight ahead then left downhill to the Arnikawiese nature reserve. Here we turn left downhill, after approx. 500 metres turn right and finally reach the lower reservoir in Wirfttal. From here it is only 300 m up the valley to the Landal holiday park at the upper reservoir, our starting point.

Wear appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear, surefootedness is required in some areas.

From the north: On the A1 motorway to the end of the Blankenheim motorway, continue on the B51 in the direction of Trier - exit Stadtkyll
From the east: On the B421 from Daun to Stadtkyll
From the south: On the A60 motorway to the Prüm exit - continue on the B51 in the direction of Cologne to the Stadtkyll exit. Cologne to the Stadtkyll exit

Accessible by train and bus
By train: Jünkerath railway station (Cologne-Trier line) 
Bus route 540 runs from Jünkerath railway station in the direction of Prüm, Gerberweg to Stadtkyll, Schwammertstraße. From here it is a 5-minute walk to the starting point of the hike.
