Cycling around Ibbenbüren

At the Ibbenbüren Cycling Sunday "Ibbenbüren on your bike", leisure cyclists from near and far are cordially invited to explore the beautiful countryside around Ibbenbüren on three signposted routes. The starting point for all tours is at junction 6 in the centre of Ibbenbüren. The three tours lead towards Dörenthe, Ladbergen and Kattenvenne and are around 25, 44 and 70 kilometres long.

Every year, recreational cyclists from near and far are invited to explore the beautiful countryside around Ibbenbüren on three signposted routes during the Ibbenbüren Cycling Sunday "Ibbenbüren on your bike". The starting point for all tours is at junction 6 in Ibbenbüren city centre. In 2025, the tours lead towards Dörenthe, Ladbergen and Kattenvenne and are around 25, 44 and 70 kilometres long.

Cycling Sunday 2025 Grand Tour

From the starting point in Ibbenbüren town centre, the tour leads to the Aasee lake and then through the Aatal and Bocketal valleys to Brochterbeck. The route continues along quiet farm tracks with views of the Teuto to the Haus Marck floodplain and on shady forest paths to Lengerich. Passing Haus Vortlage, the tour continues past endless fields and meadows to Kattenvenne. The way back leads past the moorland settlement and through Kattmannskamp to Ladbergen. Cyclists experience pure nature in the Saerbeck wetlands. The route then continues along the canal to the botanical garden. The final spurt is over the Teuto back to Ibbenbüren city centre.

The long tour is around 70 kilometres long and has three small climbs.
