A gourmet festival for foodies – from 24 August to 7 September
“No pleasure is ephemeral, because the impression it leaves behind is lasting.” Who said that? Once again, it was good old Goethe. And he was probably referring to culinary highlights such as those you’ll find at the annual Fine Food Days in Cologne. Here, Michelin-starred and other top chefs from every part of Cologne and its surrounding region spend several days showing off their entire gourmet repertoire of fine dining and drinking, accompanied by a special programme.
Cologne’s culinary festival, which is only a few years old, deliberately aspires to soar above conventional gourmet events by offering a festival format that is innovative and top-class.
Culinary events: Sometimes against an extraordinary background
For the gourmets among you, the Fine Food Days celebrate numerous individual events distributed among diverse venues all over the city. Past programmes have featured Dinner in White and a backstage rockstar atmosphere as well as hotel suites and similar settings. Further venues have included the villa of the Cologne Zoo director, the picnic meadow alongside the Aachener Weiher lake, a football centre and top-class restaurants. At this culinary festival, special experiences merge with extraordinary food and beverages to form a joyous multidimensional work of art.
Our tip: the MAI-SPECIAL ‘Meet & Taste & Küchenparty’ on 25 May celebrates the gastronomic diversity of Cologne in a unique event that bridges the gap until the next Fine Food Days Cologne.
