Battle of Brunsberg - The dawn of a new era

The Huxarium Garden Park Höxter presents an immersive exhibition in the historic Höxter Town Hall in the anniversary year "1250 Years of Westphalia". From May 9, 2025, visitors can immerse themselves in the year 775 using virtual reality technology and experience the Battle of Brunsberg up close. The exhibition shows the conflict between the Franks and Saxons, Charlemagne's campaign for Christianization and the Saxons' decades-long defence against the Frankish Empire. Original finds such as weapons, grave goods and everyday objects provide an insight into life in the 8th and 9th centuries. A program of events is also planned. The exhibition on the Battle of Brunsberg is sponsored by the LWL Cultural Foundation as part of the cultural program for the anniversary year 2025 "1250 Years of Westphalia". The patron of the cultural program is Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
