You will find our small, association-run museum in the heart of Coesfeld's old town centre (near the market square / Lamberti Church / Walkenbrückentor). Our barrier-free rooms are located behind the listed, classicist façade of an old manufacturer's townhouse. The former brewery was located directly behind it. Today, the Coesfeld public library is located there and you can reach us through the entrance foyer.
Our historical toy collection features dolls from the 1800s onwards - made of papier-mâché, wax, wood, porcelain and celluloid. We also have wooden and tin toys, optical and technical toys, such as old steam engines, which shed light on the history of play and bring back memories. In particular, the numerous historical doll's houses and merchants' shops tell of everyday life - of living, learning and working - in times gone by.
