Before the shooting festival, the so-called "Ausmarsch", which was called for at the "Anblasen", takes place. This is a dress rehearsal to ensure that the shooting festival runs smoothly. At 3.00 pm, the companies are collected from their company pubs accompanied by the bands and escorted to Kärntner Platz. The rifle corps gathers there and marches on to the Alter Markt.
Here, the reigning royal couple and the public await the marksmen. After all the companies and the music corps have lined up, the colonel reports to the king and the front is taken down. The most important ceremony on the Alter Markt is then the naming of the new shooting bird by the reigning royal couple. Afterwards, successful marksmen are honoured by the guild shooting warden.
The festive procession through the town centre begins at around 4:00 pm and leads to our guild house on Wasserwerkstraße. The day ends with a cosy get-together with food and drink at this "bivouac site".
