Introduction

The Langst local recreation area in Ahlen offers beautiful walks through the forest and around the lake.

The Langst recreation area in Ahlen is a small oasis of peace. The centrepiece is the lake, which is also home to the country inn of the same name. Small bodies of water and fountains as well as the Kneip basin structure the park together with visual axes.

Along the approx. 3 km long circular path, visitors will repeatedly find stones with quotes from Goethe that encourage them to pause and reflect.

Information for cyclists
The Langst local recreation area is located directly on the junction network. Junction 5 is approx. 3.5 km away and provides access to the 100 Castles Route. The Werse cycle path is approx. 4.4 km away (junction 32).
The cycle paths lead through the gentle Münsterland countryside to the Lippe valley or to Ennigerloh and Beckum. Beautiful excursion destinations are the Blue Lagoon and the Höxberg near Beckum.

Journey
Ahlen railway station is approx. 3 km away. Trains from Bielefeld, Duisburg, Düsseldorf, Essen, Cologne, Minden and Münster stop here regularly. Bus route 51 runs close to the local recreation area.
Access by car via the B58 (Ascheberg-Beckum). Follow the main road to Ahlen and turn off the Konrad-Adenauer-Ring into Schinkelstraße in the town centre. Follow the road to the city forest.
