nature experiences - various Zoo/wildlife park Amusement park

Getting up close to the animals - Being able to get close to wild animals and feed them, stroke their fur, or simply admire their natural beauty – at the Bird of Prey Station & the Wildlife Park Hellenthal in the Eifel, visitors can encounter native wildlife such as red and fallow deer, as well as adorable little Eurasian pygmy owls or the majestic Andean condor Santiago.

Bird of Prey Station and Wildlife Reserve Hellenthal – where eagles & co. soar in the skies
It is no coincidence that the Andean condor is often referred to as the king of the skies. With a wingspan of around three meters, it is the largest flying bird in South America and perhaps one of the most graceful in the world. You can witness its elegance high above the Oleftalsperre in Hellenthal. At the flight shows in the Bird of Prey Station Hellenthal, you can experience up close how majestically it and many other birds of prey, from the Eurasian pygmy owl to the bald eagle, move through the air.

From A for Eagle to Z for Goat
The wildlife reserve with the Bird of Prey Station is located in the heart of the Eifel and is well-known far beyond Germany's borders. Since its opening in 1967, the establishment has made a name for itself and is considered one of the oldest and largest facilities of its kind in Central Europe. In addition to multiple bird of prey shows daily, many other bird and owl species call this place home. Furthermore, the team is deeply committed to nature and species conservation and breeds some rare and endangered animal species.

64 hectares and around 600 animals
The bird of prey facility is embedded in a 64-hectare wildlife reserve where dozens of other wild and farm animal species live. Red deer, fallow deer, sika deer, roe deer, and mouflon are found here, as well as tarpan and wild boars. Various predator species such as raccoon dogs, stone martens, and lynxes also feel right at home here. In special contact enclosures, some animals can even be fed without a fence.

And so much more
The Bird of Prey Station and Wildlife Reserve Hellenthal are a destination for the whole family. While children play on the playground or get up close with miniature pigs, sheep, or donkeys in the children's area, parents can relax in the restaurant "Zum Adler" or the snack bar "Waldschänke." Another experience is a ride on the so-called "Eagle Express."

Extra Tip: Picnic spots for your own treats are also available on-site.
