In the Steinborn district, only a few kilometres from the town of Daun, ferrous mineral water bubbles up from the spring in the centre of the village.
The Steinborner Drees is a mineral water rich in iron and carbon dioxide that bubbles plentifully from a well in the center of Steinborn. The sodium-calcium-magnesium bicarbonate spring can emit up to 6 liters per minute of refreshing mineral water with an average water temperature of 11.6° C.
The water of the Steinborner Drees sprays up from a glass column and flows out through a tap, creating rust-red deposits.
The special feature of this well is a poem that is artistically adorned on the well:
Someone comes and drinks from me.
Do you think he thanks for it?
But I bubble and spring just like this
and remain joyful in giving and jumping.
So beautiful and simple is my life
Always giving, just giving.
Take your portion of mineral water at your leisure and linger under the pavilion before continuing your hike.
