Museum/Exhibition

The senior section of the volunteer fire brigade Bolsdorf is building a bridge to the past. In the "Small Museum", everyday objects from almost forgotten times find their place. Free entry!

The Little Museum Bolsdorf is located in the local recreation area Bolsdorfer Tälchen in Hillesheim, directly on the Eifelsteig as well as the Kalkeifel Cycling Path. It opened in September 2013 after a two-year renovation phase. The original field barn was transformed into a museum by the senior department of the volunteer fire department of Bolsdorf in voluntary work.

The museum is dedicated to preserving and conveying the everyday life of past generations in Bolsdorf and the surrounding region. The aim is to provide current and future generations with a vivid picture of what life was like in earlier times. In several themed areas, scenes from agriculture, traditional crafts (e.g., blacksmithing, carpentry, shoemaking, plumbing), as well as private and social life are presented – including childhood, school, living, household, customs, and club life.

The exhibition consists of numerous original everyday objects, tools, furniture, documents, and images that have been lovingly compiled and presented. Visitors gain a lively impression of the working and living world of earlier generations.
