Market days in Borken
Vegetables and fruit fresh from the field, meat products from the region, fragrant baked goods straight from the oven, colourful seasonal flowers and mysterious spices from all over the world. The weekly markets in Münsterland invite you to "open-air shopping" and yet are far more than mere sales places. This is where locals and guests meet, the latest news is exchanged and there is time for a chat among friends.
The market days on the Borken market square take place on the following days:
Thursday: 8 a.m. - 12.30 p.m.
Saturday: 8.30 - 12 h
Information for cyclists
Borken is a wonderful travel or excursion destination especially for cyclists, because the flat cycle paths lead in all directions around Borken. Numerous cycle paths are waiting to be ridden. There is a lot to discover on them, whether on old smugglers' paths towards the Dutch border or on a cycle tour on one of the themed routes.
Various themed cycle routes offer interesting cycling tours through the Münsterland region. The signposted themed cycle routes each show very special features of the region and thus tell exciting stories about Münsterland. The following themed cycle route runs through the city centre:

Borken's market square is also connected to the large network of cycle paths. The next junction can be found in the Borken city park with the number 61.
After-work market in Borken
The Feierabendmarkt takes place on the Borken market square on Thursdays from 15-19 hrs.

Krammarkt
The Krammarkt in Borken town centre always takes place on the second Tuesday of the month. It is then from 7:30-13:00.

In December, the Krammarkt becomes a St Nicholas market. Then it takes place all day from 7.30-18.00.

Arrival
By car:
From the north/south: Arrival via the A31 (Emden-Oberhausen). Take the Borken exit and then continue on the B67 towards Borken.
From the east (Münster): Arrival via the A43 (Münster-Wuppertal). Take the Dülmen exit and continue on the B474 towards Coesfeld. Turn left after about 4 km and continue via L600 and B67 to Borken.

By bus/train:
Borken is the terminus of the Essen-Bottrop-Dorsten-Borken railway line, regional train R14.
Borken railway station is approx. 1km from the market square and within easy walking distance.
From Borken station take bus R21, R51 or R74, Wilbecke stop. The bus stop is only a few minutes' walk from the market square.
Parking
There are numerous public car parks in the centre of Borken, but there is also a multi-storey car park on the street "Am Boltenhof". Please note that parking is subject to charges on weekdays (Monday to Friday) from 10:00-16:00.
