Zollverein coking plant

Since 2001, the Zollverein coking plant, together with the Zollverein Coal Mine Shaft XII, has formed the "Zollverein UNESCO World Heritage Site", the only World Heritage Site in the entire Ruhr region.

Like the colliery, the coking plant, which was built in the 1950s, captivates visitors with its neo-Saxon steel lattice architecture. In the Zollverein Monument Trail, visitors can retrace the path of coal in the authentically preserved facilities of the colliery and coking plant.
