Tourist attractions – various

The 15-metre-high windmill tower was extended as a municipal windmill at the beginning of the 17th century. The adjoining town wall, which is still clearly visible today, connected all the towers and served as a watchpoint for the men of Borken.

Since a storm in the 19th century, the windmill tower has been missing its wings, so that it could no longer be used as a windmill.

The tower is now privately owned.

Tour information

The windmill tower can only be visited from the outside. It is not possible to visit the inside.

Information for cyclists
The Münsterland is an ideal travel and excursion destination for cyclists because of its 4,500 km long and well-signposted network of cycle paths. The town of Borken is also on this network. The neighbouring Netherlands can be discovered on smuggler's trails. Exciting and worthwhile sights can be discovered and explored on the various cycle and theme routes. The windmill tower itself is not directly connected to the cycle path network, but is close to it. The junction with No. 61 is the closest and is located in the Borken city park.
