Bad Karlshafen

The second part of the Weserhöhenweg, which is almost 48 kilometers long in total, takes you from Blankenau to Bad Karlshafen. The route is approximately 25 kilometers.

Experience a fascinating journey through time on the Weser Heights Trail! This 48-kilometre hiking trail takes you from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Corvey Abbey to the impressive Hanover Cliffs.

Enjoy picturesque views of the Weser Valley and the surrounding mountains. One highlight is the Weser Skywalk, which offers breathtaking views. Discover the unique limestone beech forests of the Upper Weser, home to rare species such as the wild service tree and yew.

These species-rich forests provide a valuable habitat for endangered animal and plant species.

At the start in Höxter:
The parking lot at Corvey Castle is subject to a charge.
Limited free parking is available at the harbour south of the railroad line. (approx. 400m from the starting point)

For the start in Blankenau:
A parking lot for the start in Blankenau is available free of charge near the village square.

The journey to Höxter, where the first stage starts, is easy by train.
There are also towns with train stations along the route, such as Wehrden and Beverungen
