Through the enchanting Wupper valley by bike

Cycling is fun here because you can experience both the colourful diversity of natural surroundings and culture on this tour. The route starts in Remscheid-Lennep. Begin by whizzing downhill and enjoying the wide panoramic views. One of the most beautiful sections of the Wupper valley lies below you. 

Chill out under Germany’s highest railway bridge

Part of the route follows the Balkantrasse. Relaxed cycling is the order of the day on this disused railway track and the Müngsten Bridge park is an ideal place to take a break and enjoy views of the imposing Müngsten Bridge. 

Carefree cable ride up to Schloss Burg

Now it’s time to switch modes of transport. Board the suspension railway in the Müngsten Bridge park to get to the other side of the Wupper. Then switch to the cable car, which also takes cyclists up to Schloss Burg. Bike transport is included (no e-bikes).

Tip: Another highlight lies in wait at the end of the tour: a detour to the historic town centre of Lennep with a stop off in one of the cosy restaurants.
