Wind-Wald-Wiesen-Weg West, Rundwanderweg Dörenhagen-Haxtergrund

In keeping with the 800th anniversary of the village of Dörenhagen, one of the 5 districts of the municipality of Borchen, you can experience nature and learn a lot of interesting facts about the history of Dörenhagen on 2 newly created circular hiking trails - the Wind-Wald-Wiesen-Wegen (wind-forest-meadow trails), which are characterized by the constant wind that can be clearly felt here on the Paderborn plateau and thus gives the trails their names. Both circular trails start at the "Old Church" in Dörenhagen.

The first circular route (EAST) stretches from Dörenhagen to the east and south, taking in all three districts of Dörenhagen, the Nonnenbusch/Friedwald area and the Paderborn plateau. The second circular route (WEST) connects Dörenhagen with the Haxtergrund, Paderborn's popular local recreation area. From there, it is also possible to "walk on" in the direction of Paderborn, thus perfectly closing the gap from "village to town".
Along the route, 12 information boards have been set up to provide historical and cultural information: for example, you can find out about communication techniques in Prussian times or about the changing locations of the statue of the Virgin Mary on the star in Haxtergrund.
