Starting point of the tour is the Tourist Information Gerolstein, Bahnhofstraße 4

Over the high bridge in the center of Gerolstein, we join the Kyll cycle path heading north, past Dohm-Lammersdorf, a pretty Eifel village and a first tip for a stop: Müllich`s Hof serves Eifel delicacies and homemade cake.

Soon we reach Hillesheim. Here, nasty villains, murderers and bizarre investigators are all over the place - don't worry, the bloody stories and razor-sharp attacks are purely fictional! The Kriminalhaus in the heart of the city makes the hearts of true crime fans beat faster.

The route continues via Walsdorf and the Kalkeifel cycle path to Kerpen, where the medieval castle towers mightily over the historic town centre.

The Dreimühlen waterfall near Nohn is a natural monument. Since the last Ice Age, three spring waters escaping from karst caves have oscillated back and forth, creating a 300 m long and 100 m wide sinter bank. When the railway line to Jünkerath was built, the spring streams were merged, creating the "growing" Dreimühlen waterfall. Lime sinter forms in moss cushions as a result of sedimentation. As a result, the waterfall grows 8-10 cm into the valley every year and offers an inimitable natural spectacle.

Via Flesten and Wiesbaum we reach another mill in Birgel: Le Moulin or the Birgel Mill. The historic water mill is home to a mill experience centre - here there are mill action days, mustard and cooking courses and much more.

We cycle back to Bewingen via the Kyll cycle path. Here there is time and opportunity for a detour to the Gerolsteiner fountain. The worldwide exporting mineral water producer offers 1-2 times a week the possibility to get to know the origin of the mineral water and to observe its bottling during a factory tour. You can find the exact times of the factory tours here.
