The varied route around the district and horse town of Warendorf focuses on sustainable enjoyment. Picturesque paths lead through the Münsterland parkland, past farms and businesses that produce regional products with responsibility. Along the route, there are exciting insights into local value chains and the role of agriculture for the environment and society. Using the example of the tomato, a global arc is spanned - from local fields to Italian plantations with challenging working conditions. Ideal for a relaxed cycle tour with depth, an experience of nature and a regional connection.

The starting point is the historic centre of Warendorf with its historical flair. From there, the route leads to the "Edible City" on Kolkstiege - an urban garden project focussing on sustainable nutrition and regional self-sufficiency.

The "Tomato & Labour" hands-on station provides insights into global supply chains, in particular the working conditions of migrant harvest workers on tomato plantations in southern Italy. The station combines consumer criticism with global responsibility.

The route continues through the Münsterland parkland to the apiary along the way. The focus is on information about bees and their importance for agriculture and biodiversity.

A stop at the Schulze Osthoff farm provides a practical demonstration of how regional value chains work. Fresh produce, sustainable cultivation and fair working conditions are part of everyday life here.

The tour runs along quiet paths past meadows and fields. A rest area invites you to take a break before visiting a farm shop with regional produce. The apple orchard for all generations rounds off the regional theme.

The route returns to Warendorf via Freckenhorst and Hoetmar. The route combines a nature experience with educational aspects - ideal for relaxed tours with depth.

Parking for your own car is available from the starting point on the other side of the Ems at Milter Str. 13, 48231 Warendorf (Lohwall car park).

Further car parks along the route are located at Wilhelmsplatz. It is also possible to join the route here.
