Hike around Mettingen

The M3 circular hiking trail combines a natural experience with a cultural landscape typical of the region over a distance of around 10.1 kilometres. The starting and finishing point is the information stand of the local heritage association at the car park of St. Agatha's Church in the heart of Mettingen. With around 78 per cent asphalt, the route is particularly suitable for comfortable walking in almost any weather. The trail leads through open fields, past agricultural structures and quiet retreats. An ideal circular route for long walks with far-reaching views and a local flavour.

  • The path then continues down the valley for around 200 metres until a forest path branches off to the left at a bend. This leads to "Dreibauernstraße", which is crossed. Continue along a meadow path to the road "Am Stern", then turn right and after around 200 metres left into the path "Am Roten Bach".
  • After around 700 metres, the route branches off to the left into "Ostweg". At the next fork in the road, take "Hüdepohlweg" and continue until you reach "Dreibauernstraße". Before the farm, the path turns right onto "Papiermühlenweg", which takes you left to the historic washing station.
